As treasurer, some of her duties include:
- Custodian of all county monies
- Tax Collector (real estate, personal property, mobile home, drainage maintenance, reconstruction, inheritance tax, personal property tax judgments, sewer & weed liens, & innkeepers tax)
- Secretary of the White County Board of Finance
- Secretary/Treasurer of the White County Innkeepers Tax Board
- Issuing Mobile Home moving & title permits
- Issuing Alcoholic Beverage Permits
- Managing mortgage escrow accounts
- Conducting tax sales (usually one sale per year, in the fall; list may be purchased in late summer by contacting the White County Auditor)
RECEIVING YOUR TAX BILL (STATEMENT)
Statements are usually mailed by Mid-April BOTH ‘A’ & ‘B’ COPIES ARE MAILED TOGETHER IN THE SPRING
The “A” copy is due May 10 & the “B” copy is due November 13
You may pay both installments in the spring.

PAYING YOUR TAXES
There are 5 options for paying your taxes:
- Treasurer’s office M-F 8:00 am to 4:00 pm
- White County Banks (except Wells Fargo in Monticello)
- By credit card (by phone or on-line only) 1-800-272-9829 or www.officialpayments.com you will need JURISDICTION CODE #2420
- Drop box located at the west door of the courthouse
- By mail, make sure postmark is by the due date
IF PAYMENT OR POSTMARK IS AFTER THE DUE DATE, A 10% PENALTY WILL BE ADDED TO YOUR BILL

- B Blind W Real-Era
- D Disabled X Per-Resc
- G Government Y Per-Era
- M Mortgage Z Real-Rehab
- N Non-taxable
You must file for these exemptions with the Auditor
Homestead Credit is also available and must be filed for with the Assessor.
HOW YOUR TAXES ARE DETERMINED
- Local government (cities, towns, schools, libraries, etc) set their budget
- Assessors determine value of property
- Auditor submits abstract to the state
- State determines the tax rate
- Treasurer collects the tax
